Groveland Gallery

Founded in 1973, Groveland Gallery is located in a restored 1890's mansion on the edge of downtown Minneapolis. Groveland Gallery showcases contemporary art by Midwestern artists and specializes in representational painting and drawing. Groveland artists are considered by collectors and curators to be among some of the most talented in the U.S.
Exhibitions at Groveland change every six weeks and are featured in two distinct spaces. The Main Gallery, located on the first floor of the mansion showcases the work of Groveland artists in a large and elegant environment. The smaller Annex Gallery is located in the carriage house behind the mansion, providing intimate quarters for cameo exhibitions by both new and established gallery artists. Exhibitions are frequently complemented by artist’s talks and demonstrations. Opening Receptions are held on Friday nights and are free and open to the public. Event information can be found on the
Exhibition Schedule page of this website.
Work by Groveland Gallery artists has been placed in corporate, museum and private collections locally and throughout the United States. Museum collections include the Walker Art Center, the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, the Frederick R. Weisman Art Museum, the Minnesota Museum of American Art and the Minnesota Historical Society. Groveland artists’ work can be found in the corporate collections of Securian, 3M, Wells Fargo Bank, Dain Bosworth, Target Corporation, St. Paul Companies, Medtronic, US Bank, Cargill, and General Mills.
In addition to regularly changing exhibitions, the gallery offers a wide range of consulting and curatorial services including appraisals, collection management and development, and artist commissions. Whether currently on exhibit or not, work by all Groveland artists can always be found in the “back room” of the gallery. We invite you to join us at the gallery to view a show, enjoy an opening, or discover our constantly changing backroom inventory. You can also browse the Artists page to view current works in our inventory.

| Phoebe, the gallery’s new tail-thumping greeter, squirrel patrol and garbage investigator is currently in training. She is eager to fill the position her grandmother, Dori, held for many years. With any luck, Phoebe will take charge of her gallery dog duties later this year. At this time, she shows great aptitude at guest greeting and paper shredding, but she has yet to learn how to answer the phone.
